Roddy Ricch

Rising from Compton's streets yet shaped by Southern sensibilities, rapper Roddy Ricch crafts introspective rhymes over melodic trap beats, forging a cross-regional hybrid sound. The MC first reached listeners in 2018 via the platinum-certified single "Die Young," then claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 the following year with Please Excuse Me for Being AntiSocial. His second studio album, Live Life Fast, landed in December 2021, while the 2022 mixtape Feed tha Streets III also registered strongly on the charts; Ricch launched the next album cycle in 2024 by issuing "Survivor's Remorse."

Drawing from Meek Mill, Future, Speaker Knockerz, and Young Thug alongside the sonic approaches of Atlanta trap and Chicago drill, Ricch began cutting tracks in his bedroom at age sixteen, paying tribute to his family's Louisiana heritage even as he documented Los Angeles street realities. Feed tha Streets, his debut project, surfaced in late 2017. The ensuing year brought his initial widespread recognition, beginning with the Be 4 tha Fame EP. That summer he dropped the London on da Track-produced single "Die Young," which turned into a viral sensation, amassed millions of streams in short order, and ultimately earned platinum certification.

November 2018 saw the arrival of Feed tha Streets II, another set of his melodic rap and hypnotic production. After landing on the Hot 100 with the back-to-back 2019 singles "Big Stepper," "Start wit Me," and "Tip Toe," he unveiled Please Excuse Me for Being AntiSocial; the rapper's first proper album entered the Billboard 200 at number one that December. While the project held its position in the chart's upper tier well into 2020, Ricch received a Grammy Award in January for his contribution to Nipsey Hussle's "Racks in the Middle." The next year he joined 42 Dugg on "4 Da Gang" and released his own "Late at Night" ahead of Live Life Fast, which arrived in December 2021 featuring appearances from Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Gunna, and additional guests before debuting at number four on the Billboard charts. June 2022 brought the EP Big 3 and its Mustard-produced track "Real Talk." That November the mixtape Feed tha Streets III appeared, carrying guest verses from Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign and peaking at number 14 on the Billboard 200. Ricch's 2023 releases encompassed the Internet Money and Kodak Black collaboration "I Remember" plus featured turns on Trippie Redd's "Closed Doors" and Gucci Mane's "Pissy." Solo activity resumed in May of the following year when he issued "Survivor's Remorse," the opening single from his third LP, The Navy Album.
