Ski Mask the Slump God hails from Broward County, Florida, where his rapid, playful delivery and cartoonish image tilt ever so slightly into darker territory. Alongside his close friend and frequent collaborator XXXTENTACION, he established the Members Only collective. Beginning in 2015, tracks such as “I Like Bricks” and “Kate Moss” helped him build an audience on SoundCloud, after which he secured a contract with Republic Records and issued the 2017 single “BabyWipe.” That momentum carried into his 2018 mixtape Beware the Book of Eli, which reached number 50 on the Billboard 200 and set the stage for his first proper album, Stokeley, also released in 2018, that climbed comfortably into the Top Ten. Sin City the Mixtape surfaced in 2021, while his second studio effort, 11th Dimension, arrived in 2024.

Born Stokeley Goulbourne, he grew up immersed in hip-hop and Jamaican sounds, largely because his father had also worked as an MC. He first crossed paths with XXXTENTACION inside a juvenile detention facility in 2013; once both were free, they launched Very Rare and then expanded into the broader Members Only crew. From 2015 onward Ski Mask posted material to SoundCloud and put out multiple mixtapes, with “I Like Bricks” and “Kate Moss” eventually logging millions of streams. He also joined XXXTENTACION and Desiigner on the road. In 2016 he dropped “Take a Step Back” and the self-released Drown in Designer, then marked his twenty-first birthday the next year with “BabyWipe.” The track formed part of his Republic Records arrangement, which simultaneously yielded the follow-up mixtape YouWillRegret featuring XXXTENTACION, MadeinTYO, and DirtyFaceSmook. Additional singles “WHOHASIT” and “DoIHaveTheSause?” followed soon after.

Beware the Book of Eli, his third mixtape, entered the Billboard 200 at number 50 in 2018, and later that year the more polished Stokeley debuted inside the Top Ten. The project brought in Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Austin Lam, and Juice WRLD, while Murda Beatz and WondaGurl handled production. Ski Mask’s only standalone release in 2019 was the solo cut “Carbonated Water.” Mid-2020 saw the release of the pointed “Burn the Hoods,” which confronted racial injustice and calls for social change. June 2021 brought Sin City the Mixtape, a concise nine-track set clocking in under twenty minutes that rose to number 39 on the Billboard charts. The single “Ooga Booga!” appeared in 2022. After guest spots on records by Trippie Redd and Danny Towers, Ski Mask returned in 2024 with his second studio album, 11th Dimension, which included contributions from Future, Skillibeng, and Corbin.
