Popeda

Manserock, the late-'70s rock movement that sprang up among bands in Tampere, Finland, rests on three key pillars: Eppu Normaali, Juice Leskinen, and Popeda. The group itself arose in 1977 when Ilari Ainiala and Pauli "Pate" Mustajärvi joined forces, drawing primary inspiration from the heavier, less earnest side of the Rolling Stones' catalog. That same year the Poko label added Popeda to its roster, after which the band issued close to twenty studio albums from 1978 through 2005 plus a string of live sets and compilations. Multiple personnel shifts have occurred over the years, yet Mustajärvi remains the sole unchanging member.
