Formed in Orlando, FL, Rabbit in the Moon emerged at the intersection of performance art and dancefloor trance, assembled by frontman Bunny alongside producers Monk (Steve McClure) and Confucius (David Christophere). Bunny functions much like Keith Flint did as the nominal frontman for the Prodigy, supplying the bulk of visual spectacle throughout the group’s high-energy live performances; his outfits evoke horror cinema far more than typical rave attire, while McClure and Christophere handle the programming. Before issuing their first release on Hardkiss Records—the 1994 single “Phases of an Out of Body Experience”—the trio cut several singles for Hallucination. Rabbit in the Moon also delivered remixes for Goldie, Orbital, Sarah McLachlan, White Zombie, Cosmic Baby, and Garbage, with many of those versions appearing on Rabbit in the Moon Remixes, Vol. 1. The same three musicians joined Humate for two singles on Superstition and, in 1999, released the album FlooriD.A. along with a follow-up remix compilation titled Remixes, Vol. 2.
