Biography
The ska-punk quintet Regatta 69 took shape in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, within that city’s thriving indie-rock environment. Its roster included vocalist and bassist Brian Hill, guitarist Lee Flythe, tenor saxophonist Whit Robertson, trombonist Andy Francis, and drummer Joby DeCoster. The band’s self-titled debut LP arrived in 1992. Constant touring across the United States in a vintage Greyhound bus helped them attract a broad audience. After issuing Fat Free in 1995, they joined the Moon Ska roster and delivered their third album, Prime Time, in 1997. Skattered, Smothered, Covered followed three years later.
