Biography
Richard Fleeshman, a British performer active in both singing and acting, first drew widespread attention through his recurring portrayal of Craig Harris on the long-running television soap opera Coronation Street. He was born Richard Jonathon Fleeshman on June 8, 1989, in Manchester as the son of actors David Fleeshman and Sue Jenkins. Although his earliest recognition came through dramatic work, he later revealed vocal ability by winning two televised singing contests, taking the title on Stars in Their Eyes in 2003 and again on the charity-based Soapstar Superstar in 2006. Those successes led to a recording agreement with Universal, which resulted in the 2008 release of his debut album Neon, a '70s-influenced effort that leaned toward adult alternative rock.
