Biography
RJ Pasin, an American guitarist and producer, has built a reputation around his technical command and a vivid blend of metalcore, deathcore, and hyperpop. His active presence across social platforms quickly drew a sizable, loyal audience that embraced tracks such as “Isekai,” featured on the 2023 album sharing that title. The following year his energetic single “Lobster” achieved even greater reach, accumulating millions of streams and appearing on Billboard’s TikTok chart.
Displaying prodigious talent early, Pasin pursued classical piano studies in childhood before shifting to jazz piano, then independently mastered production techniques. While drawn to electronic and trap sounds, he also gravitated toward aggressive guitar-driven music, citing My Chemical Romance among his formative influences. On the instrument he favored a mix of spontaneous improvisation and precise, intricate arrangement. From 2018 onward he issued singles including “Balance” and “Grow,” which reflected a smoother, atmospheric sensibility. By 2023 he had forged a personal style merging luminous, glitch-heavy hyperpop production with rapid-fire metalcore riffs, often demonstrating these elements in widely viewed online clips. Tracks such as “Isekai” and “Final Battle” generated substantial streaming numbers and appeared on his first full-length release, the album Isekai. He has also worked extensively alongside Jordan Adetunji, Jay Moon, and Tom Frane. Entering 2024 with an already extensive body of work, Pasin delivered the Billboard-charting “Lobster” and introduced the side project ptasinski through the EP alchemy.
