Romulo Caicedo

Romulo Caicedo’s tender, amorous singing, paired with the harmonious exchanges of accordion, clarinet, and brass alongside the percussive pulse of maracas, bongos, clave, tumba, and cymbals, played a pivotal role in carrying Caribbean-flavored cumbia onto the global platform. He first stepped into the spotlight in the late ’40s as a member of Les Tres Jotas, also called the Three Jays, and has since sustained an unceasing solo itinerary.
