Biography
A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist steeped in the theatrical glam rock of the 1970s, Royston Langdon traces his career decision to a pivotal moment at age twelve when he witnessed Queen’s live performance. Born Royston William Langdon on May first, 1972 in Leeds, England, he had already encountered music years earlier by entering the Leeds Parish Church choir at age seven alongside his older brother Antony. Subsequent group ventures eventually took the Langdon brothers to New York City, where nineteen-year-old Royston reportedly relocated to assist Antony during a difficult breakup. While interning at Baby Monster Studios, the younger Langdon encountered producer Bryce Goggin, previously associated with The Lemonheads and Trey Anastasio. Their ensuing friendship led Goggin to helm Spacehog’s debut single “In The Meantime.” Following several albums that earned strong critical notice yet modest sales, the band dissolved, prompting Langdon to record a solo project once more with Goggin slated for a 2003 release. In 2001 he wed actress Liv Tyler.
