Sacramentum

Formed in late 1990 under the name Tumulus, Nisse Karlén on bass and vocals, guitarist Anders Brolycke, and drummer Nicklas Rudolfsson later adopted the moniker Sacramentum once they had completed their Finis Malorum CD/EP in 1992. Eager to establish themselves in Sweden’s black metal circles, the trio returned to the studio in 1995 to lay down “Far Away from the Sun,” issued the following year. Following a European tour and a 1997 deal with Century Media, the band delivered its second album, The Coming of Chaos, which simultaneously served as its American debut. Additional shows across Europe and the States preceded the arrival of the third full-length, Thy Black Destiny, in 1999.
