Biography
Alastor Mysteriis and Devolthan launched Setherial in Sweden in 1994, steering the band down the grim, relentless corridor toward black metal damnation already navigated by fellow Nordic outfits including Marduk, Emperor, and Darkthrone. By 1996 the lineup had expanded to include vocalist Kraath, bassist Thorn, and drummer Zathanel, enabling the group to book time at the storied Abyss Studios and emerge with the critically praised Nord as its first album. The next releases, Lords of the Nightrealm (1997) and Hell Eternal (1999), coincided with repeated membership turnover, after which a prolonged break kept the band off the scene until its reappearance with Endtime Divine in 2003.
