Biography
Keyboardist Sam Yahel, recognized as a Hammond B-3 specialist, advances a progressive style that fuses expansive post-bop with cerebral organ trio funk. After relocating to New York City in 1990, he has performed and recorded alongside numerous prominent musicians such as trumpeter Ryan Kisor, trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, guitarist Bill Frisell, saxophonist Joshua Redman, vocalist Madeleine Peyroux, funk legend Maceo Parker, and others. Under his own name he has issued several albums, among them Searchin' in 1998 and Truth and Beauty in 2007.
