Trackmaster Lou, the Detroit techno artist, operates most prominently under the Scan 7 alias, with releases on two flagship labels of the genre, Underground Resistance and Tresor. The self-titled Scan 7 EP served as his introduction to Underground Resistance, delivering the dark techno sound native to Mike Banks' imprint. He first appeared on Tresor via the 313 compilation under the names Xzile and Black Man, then followed with three EPs on the Berlin label—Dark Territory, Beyond Sound, and Resurfaced.
