Biography
Formed in San Francisco, the Latino duo of John "Milo" Pro and Octaviano Silva fuses Latin and reggae rhythms with dance and R&B textures. Silva, whose parents emigrated from Nicaragua, drew inspiration from Stevie Wonder, Prince, and the vocal group Take 6. Pro, a native of Texas, developed an early affinity for doo wop and other classic vocal styles. The pair first connected while sharing studio space in San Francisco, where they discovered how naturally their voices blended; soon afterward they began performing together in clubs throughout California. Their independently released single "Treasure of My Heart" gained airplay on Bay Area stations and in local dance clubs, leading Warner Bros. to sign them. The label issued their debut album, Anything You Want, in 1995, after which a six-piece band joined the lineup for touring.
