Biography
Shannon Brown grew up in an Iowa resort town where her parents, both club owners and musicians, immersed her in the entertainment world from childhood onward. Comfortable in front of audiences at an early age, the future singer did not envision a professional path until she first tried karaoke at seventeen. That discovery quickly turned her into a local favorite, resulting in hundreds of live performances each year before she relocated to Nashville in 1994. A short-lived RCA contract in 1997 offered only frustration when corporate restructuring blocked any push for her single “I Won’t Lie,” underscoring the industry’s harsher realities. Momentum finally arrived in 2004 through the assistance of her longtime friend John Rich of Big & Rich, paving the way for her debut album, Corn Fed, which appeared in February 2006 on Warner Bros. Nashville.
