Biography
The three sisters who formed SheDaisy arrived amid the late-1990s surge of female country-pop acts, echoing the stylistic approach of Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks. Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy Osborn spent their childhood in Magna, a modest Utah community near Salt Lake City, where they began harmonizing as children and frequently staged impromptu performances for local residents. Over time Kristyn increasingly focused on songwriting in solitude, while Kelsi and Kassidy appeared as a duo at nearby venues. Once high school ended, the eldest sibling joined them to create a three-part harmony ensemble. Adopting a name derived from a Navajo term signifying “my sisters,” they toured extensively across the western United States before relocating to Nashville in pursuit of a recording contract. To support themselves they took jobs at department stores and eventually signed with the Disney-affiliated imprint Lyric Street. Their first full-length project, The Whole Shebang, appeared in 1999 and yielded the breakthrough single “Little Good-Byes,” which climbed to number three on the country charts. “I Will...But” reached number two, and “This Woman Needs” earned the group its third Top Ten placement, propelling The Whole Shebang to platinum status.
While preparing a proper second album, the trio kept material in circulation through the 2000 holiday release Brand New Year and the 2001 remixed edition The Whole Shebang: All Mixed Up. Their sophomore effort, Knock on the Sky, finally arrived in summer 2002. Although its singles achieved less commercial traction, the album still peaked at number three on the country charts and satisfied an expanding audience. SHeDAISY resurfaced in 2004 with the pop-country album Sweet Right Here and its lead single “Passenger Seat,” then delivered the twelve-track Fortuneteller's Melody in 2006.
