Biography
During 2004 Michelle Branch paused her thriving solo path to join forces with longtime friend and road vocalist Jessica Harp on a fresh endeavor they named the Wreckers. Harp had previously built her career as a Nashville songwriter and performer, and the country influences she brought combined with Branch’s pop instincts to shape the duo’s rustic, harmony-driven style. The pair made their first appearance that fall by performing “Good Kind” on the WB series One Tree Hill. The track later surfaced on the program’s official soundtrack, released in January 2005, while the Wreckers readied their debut full-length. Lead single “Leave the Pieces” reached country radio ahead of the album Stand Still, Look Pretty, which arrived in March 2006 via Maverick and peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200. The live set Way Back Home: Live from New York City appeared the following year.
