Biography
Bomshel originated from a determined weekly Tuesday performance series launched by vocalist Buffy Lawson and fiddler Kristy O. at a Nashville venue, where the pair treated the city’s quietest bar night as an entry point into its fiercely competitive music industry. Crowds soon packed Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, drawing repeat visitors who traveled considerable distances for the shows. The growing buzz led to a contract with Curb Records, which established the duo’s own imprint, Bombstop! Records. By 2009 the act resurfaced under Kristy’s complete name, Kristy Osmunson, with Kelley Shepard stepping in after Buffy’s departure. That year also saw the release of their album Fight Like a Girl.
