Stuck In The Sound

Drawing inspiration from Nirvana, the Pixies, and Sonic Youth, the French indie rock quartet Stuck in the Sound took their name from the unconventional practice of sealing themselves inside a basement during recording sessions. The group came together in 2002 with lead vocalist Jose Reis Fontao, guitarist Emmanuel Barichasse, bassist Arno Bordas, and drummer François Ernie, issuing their self-titled debut on the independent Stuck Records label in 2004. After securing a contract with Discograph, they maintained their affinity for 1990s grunge by calling their 2006 follow-up Nevermind the Living Dead and enlisting Sonic Youth producer Nick Sansano for the 2009 chart breakthrough Shoegazing Kids. An exhaustive 100-date European tour preceded the arrival of their fourth album, Pursuit, in 2012.
