Biography
Sumerian Fleet came together as a Dutch ensemble in 2010 when producers Alden Tyrell and Mr. Pauli joined forces with vocalist Zarkoff. Rooted in the shadowy allure of ’80s goth icons, the trio shaped dark electronic pop that echoed the most propulsive cuts by Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, and Front 242. Their self-titled debut EP surfaced in 2010, while the Sturm Bricht Los EP followed two years later as an ultra-scarce 12" single. For the next two years the members devoted themselves to writing and tracking songs intended for their first full-length, Just Pressure. Released in 2014, the album drew on sinister gothic and darkwave currents, built with vintage synthesizers and drum machines to mirror the core textures of classic ’80s club goth.
