Biography
Hailing from New Zealand, Tahuna Breaks fuses roots reggae, funk, soul, and rock on their first album, Reflections, which appeared in 2007. The ensemble formed in Auckland in 2005 and features Marty Greentree on vocals and guitar, Tom Charleson on guitar, James Winkle on bass, Tim Gemmell on drums, Kelsey Serjeant and Jonny McClean on saxophone, Tim Baker on trumpet, and Adam Fuhr on keyboards. Several singles from Reflections—"Voodoo," "Real Life," and "Casually Acquainted"—received widespread airplay. The 2009 follow-up, Black Brown & White, reached number 12 on the New Zealand charts and produced the singles "Empower Me" and "Black Brown & White." In support of that record the band toured New Zealand and Australia, performing at festivals including Big Day Out.
