Biography
Tallari, renowned for its partnership with the Folk Music Institute, presents an instrumental array whose variety nearly equals the scope of its selections. Beyond the widely played fiddle and kantele, the ensemble employs historic devices such as the jouhikko, described as a three-stringed lyre, and birch bark itself. The group focuses its efforts on retrieving and safeguarding a broad spectrum of traditional Finnish folk songs.
