Tanya Morgan

The moniker Tanya Morgan might suggest a lone female artist, yet the entity actually constitutes a male hip-hop collective. Formation occurred in 2003 after Brooklyn-based producer and MC Von Pea connected virtually with Cincinnati's MC Donwil, leading them to collaborate on a full project. They incorporated Ilyas, who alongside Donwil had previously formed Ilwil, as well as local Cincinnati producer Brickbeat. Demos were exchanged digitally among the members, with an in-person gathering happening solely once half the album had been finished. The group's inaugural album, Moonlighting, appeared during spring 2006.
