Teddy Killerz burst onto the drum'n'bass landscape in 2012 through the debut release Scary/Earth Shaker on Bad Taste Recordings, the label run by Bad Company UK. Core members Anton Mashevsky, born in Russia, and Oleg Cholovski, born in Ukraine, had previously operated together as Place 2B & Paimon. Their precisely crafted productions appeared on imprints such as Fokus, Citrus, and Disturbed before the pair enlisted fellow Russian Grigory Cherekaev, also known as Garud, to establish the trio.

Following the first EP, issued jointly with N-Phonix, the group quickly issued New Drums and closed out the year with The Exorcist EP on Hardcore Beats, the label owned by Dee Kline. They also entered a remix contest for Skrillex's "Make It Bun Dem," receiving a personal nod from Skrillex even though the contest went unclaimed; the next year brought two EPs on his OWSLA label. Rising visibility prompted the 2014 Big Blow EP on Program, RAM's underground offshoot, plus the three Machine Room EPs for Bad Taste. Late in 2014 the trio confirmed an exclusive contract with Andy C's RAM Records.

While concentrating on their debut album over the following two years they supplied RAM with several EPs and singles, among them Hyperspeed, Killer Squad, and Teddynator. Near the end of 2016 they revealed the forthcoming album Nightmare Street. Released in mid-2017, the tightly assembled set explored dubstep and electro alongside drum'n'bass and arrived after the single Monkey Kingdom.
