Biography
Established in 2003 within Trento, Italy, the alternative rock group The Bastard Sons of Dioniso features three Trento natives born that same year: Jacopo Broseghini on vocals and bass from December 23, Federico Sassudelli on vocals and drums since February 7, and Michele Vicentini on vocals and guitar beginning October 10. Before wider recognition arrived through the 2008 edition of the television competition X Factor, the band issued its first two albums on Gulliver Records—Great Tits Heat! in 2006 and Even Lemmy Sometimes Sleeps in 2007. Their run on the program ended with a second-place result behind winner Matteo Becucci, yet it secured a contract with Sony Music. The major-label era opened in 2009 when “Contessa” reached the Italian Top Five, after which the chart-topping single “L’Amor Carnale” appeared alongside a six-track EP that also landed in the Top Five.
