Biography
Jörg Burger, an early proponent of techno and advocate for the minimalist approach centered in Cologne, Germany, adopted The Bionaut as one pseudonym among several. Under that name he placed multiple tracks on Europe-only releases spanning 1993 to 1997, editions that have grown scarce or unavailable. Matador Records remedied the situation in 2001 by assembling the 18-track anthology Lubricate Your Living-Room. Across subsequent years Burger has also released full-length projects under the names burger/ink, the Modernist, Trinkwasser, and Geometric Farms, while simultaneously directing the Popular and Eat Raw labels in tandem with his recording work.
