A combustible industrial metal outfit from Hollywood, California, the Dreaming originated in 2002 when vocalist Christopher Hall and drummer Johnny Haro assembled the project after Stabbing Westward chose to disband. Retaining a sonic resemblance to their former group yet incorporating a denser electro-metal element, Hall and Haro immediately tracked early demos once Stabbing Westward ended, made their first live appearance in 2003, and issued an untitled debut EP. Two further EPs appeared in quick succession—The Bonus Tracks in 2005 and Dreamo thereafter—before Club Re-Mixes arrived in 2007. The band’s first full-length album, Etched in Blood, surfaced in 2008 and was supported by a three-month headlining run plus a co-headlining trek alongside industrial alt-metal specialists Flaw. The Puppet arrived in 2011. Three years later, former Stabbing Westward keyboardist Walter Flakus entered the lineup and contributed to the third studio album, Rise Again, issued by Metropolis Records in 2015.
