Biography
Formed around a trio of Telecaster specialists—Jerry Donahue, a former Fairport Convention member, John Jorgenson, founder of the Desert Rose Band, and session musician Will Ray—the Hellecasters earned enthusiastic acclaim from guitar enthusiasts for the fiery roots and country-rock energy of their 1993 debut album, The Return of the Hellecasters. Escape From Hollywood appeared the next year, and the group resurfaced in 1997 with Hell 3: New Axes to Grind.
