Peppermint Trolley Company assembled in Redlands, California, during 1967 and went on to issue one album plus five singles. Among the first acts signed to the Acta label, whose standout achievement arrived with the American Breed single "Bend Me Shape Me," the group placed only one track on the charts. That single, "Baby You Come Rollin' Across My Mind," reached number 59 in the summer of 1968. The band sustained a noticeable presence through performances of the weekly theme songs for Love American Style and the first season of The Brady Bunch, after which the show's cast members assumed vocal duties starting with the second season. Its members were Bob Cheevers on vocals and guitar, Jimmie Faragher on bass, guitar, and sax, Danny Faragher on keyboards, Casey Cunningham on guitar and flute, and Greg Tornouist on drums. Momentum proved fleeting, prompting an early-'70s name change first to Bones and then to the Faragher Brothers before the lineup disbanded. Bob Cheevers later built a solo career, releasing several discs in the contemporary folk genre.
