Biography
London serves as home base for the See See, a collective of psychedelic revivalists drawn from disparate corners of the globe and dedicated to transplanting the sugary, kaleidoscopic textures of 1960s psych into contemporary music. Richard Olson, formerly of Eighteenth Day of May, assembled the group alongside Paulie Cobra, Kevin Peyok, Sam Ferman, and Phil Anderson. Rather than following modern promotional routes, the band introduced itself through a run of 45-rpm singles. Combined with their live performances, those releases secured choice support slots alongside kindred acts such as the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Raconteurs, paving the way for the vinyl-only arrival of their 2010 debut album, Late Morning Light. The record reached compact disc in 2011, at which point it began attracting favorable coverage from British journalists. Momentum increased with the 2012 follow-up Fountayne Mountain, and 2014 marked the band’s initial American breakthrough when Sundazed Records issued a collection drawn from the first two albums. Another original studio album was slated to appear before the year ended.
