The Three Tenors

Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and José Carreras constituted the ensemble known as the Three Tenors and stood out as arguably the leading male vocalists of present-day opera. Although each had already secured major individual triumphs and widespread recognition through solo work, any joint performances under the Three Tenors name instantly became major public spectacles that packed stadium venues and placed their albums along with live concert videos among the higher ranks on pop charts.
