Biography
Billy Childish channeled his relentless songwriting through countless outlets, one of which was the all-female garage unit Thee Headcoatees. The group began life under the name the Delmonas and was assembled as a counterpart to his band the Milkshakes, later filling an analogous role opposite his project Thee Headcoats. Their debut album, Girlsville, arrived in 1991, with the follow-up Have Love Will Travel appearing the next year. The first of two live collaborations with Thee Headcoats, Wild Billy Childish and His Famous Headcoats Live! At the Wild Western Room London, Featuring Thee Headcoatees!, surfaced in 1994, while the second, The Sound of the Baskervilles, came out in 1995. Punk Girls and Bozstik Haze both appeared on the band’s 1997 release schedule.
