Top Cat boasts multiple chart-topping singles achieved both through his performances and production work, in addition to receiving the British Reggae award recognizing him as Best British DJ. His reggae style stands out due to the integration of jungle and hip-hop elements. Toasting alongside U.K. sound systems provided him with valuable experience and led directly to his initial number one hit, "Love Me Sess," in 1988. The next year saw the release of his first album, Sensimelia Man. In 1993, From JA to UK Clash Vol. 3 came out. "Request the Style" quickly emerged as another number one single. Top Cat secured his third U.K. chart-topper with both a reggae rendition and a jungle rendition of "Push up Yu Lighter." Establishing the 9 Lives label enabled further successes at the top of the charts via "Over U Body/Rude Boy Remix" and "Wind You up Body." Ras Records offers the compilation King of the Jungle, which collects his major singles.
