Biography
Although Patrick Leonard, the producer behind work for Madonna, Elton John, and Jewel, and Kevin Gilbert, a Grammy-winning songwriter for Sheryl Crow, would each achieve greater recognition elsewhere, the pair came together to launch Toy Matinee as a progressive-pop studio band. In 1990 the duo put out their only release, a self-titled album that includes appearances by Julian Lennon and Guy Pratt, the bass player who toured with Pink Floyd in 1988.
