Boris Bunnik, the Rotterdam producer and photographer behind projects such as Conforce and Silent Harbour, records under the Versalife alias when focusing on electro. In that guise he has placed music with leading European techno outlets like Clone, Shipwrec, Delsin, and 20:20 Vision, as well as assorted other labels and his own Transcendent Records.

Versalife first appeared in 2011, several years after Conforce had become Bunnik’s busiest outlet, and has since run in tandem with it at a comparable rate of releases. While the two share certain atmospheric traits—most notably an eerie, submerged quality—Versalife tilts further into the stark, synthetic otherness of vintage electro, shaping a singularly shadowy, gripping, and inventive sound.

Alongside numerous EPs, four albums have emerged: Vantage Point (2013, Clone), Encrypted Mind (2017, Djak-Up-Bitch), and the pair Manifold and Chronoception (2020 and 2023, both on 20:20 Vision). The triple-EP sets Night Time Activities and Soul of the Automaton were each later gathered into single compilations.
