Voxtrot

Voxtrot may trace their roots to Texas, yet their lively indie pop draws frequent parallels to Belle & Sebastian and other like-minded acts from across the Atlantic. While enrolled in courses in Scotland, singer Ramesh Srivastava launched the group, later relocating operations to Austin, TX, where he enlisted Jared Van Fleet on guitar and keyboards, Matt Simon on drums, Mitch Calvert on guitar, and Jason Chronis on bass. Before issuing any full album, the band attracted widespread attention from online writers and major music publications alike, prompting a deal with Playlouder, a subsidiary within The Beggars Group. Alongside a planned LP slated for early 2007, Voxtrot independently issued the EPs Raised by Wolves and Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives through their own Cult Hero imprint.
