Cut Off Your Hands

Originating from Auckland, New Zealand, Cut Off Your Hands specialize in indie rock marked by catchy melodies and post-punk influences. The group had earlier operated under the name Shaky Hands before switching to its present title in order to sidestep overlap with a Portland, OR, band sharing the former moniker. Their introductory EP, Shaky Hands, surfaced in 2006, with the follow-up Blue on Blue arriving the subsequent year. Universal put out the band’s first full-length effort, You and I, in 2008, while Frenchkiss Records issued the album stateside in early 2009. Hollow, the 2011 release, brought guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Lee into the lineup and introduced a smoother, shimmering sound.
