Biography
Colyn Cameron, a singer-songwriter raised in Southern California, devised the pastoral indie-folk project Wake Owl after roaming extensively through the U.K., Germany, Chile, and Canada and then returning to the United States to prepare his first recording under that name. Vagrant Records released the resulting Wild Country EP in 2013, securing a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year for the Vancouver, British Columbia-based ensemble, whose lineup featured multi-instrumentalist Aiden Briscall. Richard Swift produced the outfit’s first full-length effort, Private World of Paradise, which appeared the next year.
