Wax Poetic

Formed in 1997 by Turkish-born music figure Ilhan Ersahin, the New York trip-hop collective Wax Poetic first assembled at the once-popular, now-defunct Save the Robots club. A shifting roster of players gathered there to fuse dense drum 'n' bass pulses with brisk dance textures into a potent rhythmic foundation. Ersahin and the others secured a contract with Atlantic during the late 1990s, which led to the June 2000 release of their self-titled debut album.
