Biography
Joshua Eppard, who kept time behind the kit for the emo punk-pop outfit Coheed & Cambria, had long craved an outlet to shape his ideas through rhyme instead of melody. The group’s label, Equal Vision, elected to back the idea by handing him an independent imprint where he could finally shape the rap endeavor Weerd Science, a project he had been sketching out and tinkering with since childhood. Working alongside producers Ill (Danny Illchuk) and Wavis (Dave Parker), he shaped and revised the tracks during the stretches between Coheed tours. The accumulated work yielded the offbeat, geek-vindicating album Friends and Nervous Breakdowns, issued in March 2005 on his own Super Rap Records.
