In the realm of hip-hop, Illogic nearly singlehandedly elevated Ohio's standing. He also rose to the forefront of countless supporters' expectations that he would claim the microphone title and carry it onward. Conscious lyrics, wise and intelligent metaphors, and Illogic's verbal dominance on the beat powered his debut project Unforeseen Shadows, which sent shockwaves through the underground hip-hop community upon its 1999 release. Weightless issued the 2001 follow-up Got Lyrics? as well.
