Hailing from Seattle, Washington, alternative rap artist Sadistik—born Cody Foster in Yakima—prides himself on a profound, intellectual, and intricate lyricism. After graduating from Central Washington University, he issued his debut album, The Balancing Act, in 2008, which included guest spots by Vast Aire and Mac Lethal. Ceschi and David Ramos then brought the rapper aboard their Fake Four label, resulting in the 2013 release of his next project, Flowers for My Father. He followed up quickly on the same imprint with Ultraviolet the subsequent year. Bolstered by turns from Sticky Fingaz and Tech N9ne plus a posthumous Eyedea contribution on the song “Chemical Burns,” the album landed on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart soon after its release. Following a pair of EPs—2015’s Phantom Limbs, a joint effort with Kno of CunninLynguists, and 2016’s Salo Sessions—Sadistik delivered his fourth full-length, Altars, in April 2017.
