Biography
Formerly the vocalist for the Gathering, Anneke Van Giersbergen fronts Agua de Annique, which presents itself as a collective despite functioning primarily as her solo project. In its initial recording lineup, the group features Joris Dirks handling guitar duties, Jacques de Haard on bass, and Rob Nnijders at the drums, while Anneke contributes her signature vocals along with piano. Launched during the first months of 2007 prior to her formal exit from the Gathering, Agua de Annique prepared its inaugural full-length effort, titled Air, for an October unveiling, delivering an atmospheric fusion of rock energy with intimate singer/songwriter elements that would feel familiar rather than radical to enthusiasts of her concluding work alongside the Gathering.
