Anneke Van Giersbergen

Anneke van Giersbergen entered the world in 1973 inside the southern Netherlands settlement of Sint-Michielsgestel. The Dutch vocalist and musician gained widest recognition as frontwoman of the Gathering, the influential progressive metal band for which she laid down six studio albums. She parted ways with the ensemble in 2007 and launched Agua de Annique together with her husband, drummer Rob Snijders. Her résumé also includes joint projects with Devin Townsend, Moonspell, Anathema, and Napalm Death.
