Biography
Lyric soprano Heidi Parviainen launched the Finnish symphonic metal band Dark Sarah in late 2012, immediately after exiting her prior position as lead vocalist with Amberian Dawn. Their first album, Behind the Black Veil, surfaced in 2013 and fused intricate guitar shredding with theatrical flourishes while tracing a central tale of a woman abandoned at the altar who evolves into an instrument of retribution. The storyline advanced through The Puzzle in 2016 and reached closure with The Golden Moth in 2018. Dark Sarah opened a fresh narrative arc via their fourth studio album, Grim, which appeared in 2020 and represented their initial release on Napalm Records. Three years later the group delivered the opulent, cinematic Attack of Orym, introducing keyboardist Henrik Airaksinen to the studio lineup.
