Biography
Airhead, initially operating under the name Jefferson Airhead, arrived on the Madchester scene just as its peak moment faded. Unlike the movement’s originators the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, the group’s earliest recordings aligned more closely with the style of the Mock Turtles, the Real People, and Blur. Michael Wallis, the band’s lead singer and chief songwriter, steered them through their lone album, the 1992 release Boing!!, after which the label terminated the contract. One further indie single appeared on Mother Tongue before the members disbanded.
