Biography
Alice Gold may have launched her professional path while based in London, but her earliest songwriting efforts date back to age eight in the nearby town of Camberley. She later relocated to the United States and devoted six months to crisscrossing the country in a Winnebago as she refined her material, folding 1960s influences such as Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane into a present-day pop/rock palette. After returning, she resettled in London and teamed with Dan Carey, the British producer who had co-written Kylie Minogue’s number one single “Slow.” Working within a tight budget, the pair finished Gold’s debut album, Seven Rainbows. She then secured a contract with Fiction Records and issued her first single, “Orbiter,” in late 2010.
