Biography
Axe Murder Boyz, the enduring hardcore rap duo also called AMB, emerged from an underground beginning when Mexican-American brothers Mike and James Garcia—performing individually as Bonez Dubb and Young Wicked—established the project in Denver, Colorado, during 1999. The pair’s output later appeared on Psychopathic Records, its subsidiary Hatchet House, and Majik Ninja Entertainment, where their fusion of the labels’ horrorcore leanings—marked by eerie dread and stylized brutality—with their own West Coast gangsta rap edge produced charting releases such as Blood In, Blood Out (2006), God’s Hand (2008), The Garcia Brothers (2014), and Muerte (2018).
After launching their recording career on the independent imprint Axe Recordings, they issued The Underground Stylistikz and How Far Will I Go? in 1999, followed by Tormented (2000), The Galaxy (2001), The Down Low EP (2002), and Tha Underground Stylystiks Compilation Album, Vol. 1 (2003). A subsequent move to Canonize Productions yielded their fourth official full-length, The Unforgiven Forest (2004), along with the EPs Vampirez and Underdogz.
A contest victory connected to Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records then secured them a contract. Their first release for the label, Blood In, Blood Out—also their sixth album overall—appeared in 2006 and included contributions from ICP, Shaggy 2 Dope, Twiztid, and Blaze Ya Dead Homie. Embraced within the Juggalo audience, the project registered on Billboard’s Heatseekers, Independent, and Internet charts while reaching number 199 on the Billboard 200. God’s Hand followed in 2008 via the Psychopathic subsidiary Hatchet House. For their eighth album, The Garcia Brothers (2014), the brothers returned briefly to Psychopathic before shifting to Twiztid’s Majik Ninja Entertainment for Muerte in 2018.
