Biography
Ice-T's longstanding acknowledgments of Ultramagnetic MCs across his releases and interviews made a partnership with Kool Keith in Analog Brothers feel inevitable. Ice-T adopts the moniker Ice Oscillator for the project, while Keith appends Keith Korg to an already extensive roster of alter egos that includes Black Elvis, Dr. Octagon, and Dr. Dooom. Rex Roland's participation likewise follows naturally, given his prior production work on Keith's porno-fueled Sex Style album and his vocal contribution to the hook of Ice-T's seminal 1988 single "I'm Your Pusher." Mark Moog and Silver Synth round out the lineup with their own substantial skills. The project's name highlights its reliance on vintage futurism, centered on Moogs alongside 808 and 909 drum machines, all captured at Rex Roland's analog studio. The resulting sound stands apart from other "pimp"-styled outfits such as Too Short and UGK. That distinctiveness stems directly from the abundant trademark eccentricity long associated with Kool Keith productions. "2005" served as the lead single from the collective's first album, Pimp to Eat.
