Biography
In 1988 bassist, guitarist, and vocalist Bill Graber launched Tilt-A-Whirl alongside drummer/vocalist Scott McDonald and bassist/guitarist Rob Graber. A lawsuit threat soon forced a name change to Arcwelder, timed with the arrival of their second album, Jacket Made in Canada, which appeared in 1991. Originally based in Minneapolis, the group fuses Hüsker Dü-influenced garage rock with pop melodies. They signed with Chicago’s Touch & Go imprint in 1992 and delivered the albums Pull, Xerxes (1994), Entropy (1996), and Everest (1999).
